 Paula Landsman

Paula Landsman was born in the Czech Republic, where she studied dentistry but remained talented and interested in art.

After the Russian occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968, she was smuggled over the border and escaped.

From 1970 she lived in Gothenburg, Sweden, where she married, worked in her profession and raised her family.

In 1978, her family made a decision to move to Canada and settled in Hamilton, Ontario.
While in Hamilton, Paula opened and operated the successful “Stockholm Restaurant.”

In 1992, the family moved again to the West Coast in Victoria, B.C.

Paula now bases her sculpture workshop out of her home. After many years spent admiring the sculptures of the Czech Republic, Europe, and North America, she is finally pursuing her passion.

In 1996, Paula took sculpting classes in clay and workshops in stone sculpting.

Paula’s work reflects a strong interest in figurative sculpting. Her detailed sculptures relate to her life and are influenced by feeling and emotions.

Paula is also a member of the Vancouver Island Sculptor’s Guild.
